Soo based on my point system, here's the scores of the first 5 coffee shops!
5th Place: Jupiter House
It's not that I don't like it, it's just too common and loud and the music sucks. In my opinion I like this place better than banter, but the music is on a 15pt scale and this place lacked so their score was lower..
4th Place: banter.
Not gonna lie, wasn't diggin this place too much. too expensive and nothing special. But I am yet to come on their live music nights, I hear those are pretty sweet.
3rd Place: Art 6
Love the atmosphere of this place. And ever since open mic night they went up in my book. There's so much talent in Denton, and this place definitely showcased that. &Awesome pizza bagels!
2nd Place: The Hydrant Cafe
Probably the only place where I can get some hardcore studying done. The upstairs is my sanctuary, it's quiet and comfy and the music rocks.
1st Place: Zera's
Aka my living room. This place is to calm, and chill. People are nice and will always be my hideaway spot in Denton:) It has such a different feel from the other coffee shops and that's a good thing. Lauren's says, "It's the best on the planet! & there's no intimidation. & it's charitable, it's awesome how all their proceeds go to that foundation."
Here's the story, my name is Anna and out of the blue I've decided to hit up all the local coffee shops here in the good ole indie town of Denton. I figure I gotta tell someone about it, why not the world?

Jupiter House
Me and Lauren are currently stayin out of this nasty cold weather in the warm, liveliness that of which is Jupiter House. Speaking of Lauren, she as of today started her own music blog called "My College Experience through music" and considering Lo is a music junkie if your in desperate need of some new tunes ya'll should check it out! Sooo this week is pretty much my dead week. While everyone studies their brains out for lame tests I reside in my "cave" of a room to sleep, play sims3, and watch my favorite tv shows on my computer all day. I know, I know the life of a lazyass but what else is there to do!? Especially in this crappy weather. Well I tagged along with Nauren so she can study and I can blog again. And boy am I glad because this place is cool. I'm liking the new atmosphere.. there are various kinds of people in here.. the couple on their awkward first date, the girl in front of me who has her text books all laid out yet has been on facebook for the past hour, the man intensely working but you can tell he's getting pissed at the people gossiping next to him, the indies, the gays, this place is hoppin tonight!
Sooo on another note, to all of those who actually are reading this unimportant webpage of words I call my life, thanks. I went home for spring break last week and a bunch of people came up to me saying they like my blog, I was so flattered! Not gonna lie, I didn't think anyone would read this shit but I'm glad to know that my life is somewhat entertaining to those few.
Anyways Jupiter House (the one on the square) is sweet. They have a wall of duct taped self-portraits of some of the brilliant minds that went before us and are still alive today aka John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Yoko Ono, etc. Check the pics. Lovin the set up of tables there's the chill side with the bistro chairs and the strict study side with the tall bar tables. The counter people were super nice too, the man was telling the lady in front of us about the new record shop that me and Nauren gotta check out soon :) Because Lo's parents are getting her a record player for our apartment next yearr! We're totally psyched. We've decided that our living room is gonna look totally hipstimatic. [I have bolded this word bc I have been living under a rock my whole life and recently learned what the word "hipster" means. Well before I learned the not so good hidden meaning of this word, me and Lo said hipstimatic all the time! So I refuse to exclude this word from my dictionary, and just know when I say hipstimatic I think its totally psychedelic I am not referring to myself as poser who wears thick rimmed glasses who thinks I am better than everyone and I live my life based of philosophies.] Anywaysss ya'll should check out Jupiter House, they are a chain so there are multiple locations!
Jupiter House Evaluation
Food Choices/Internet: 5 Only have muffins and breads and bagels; free wifi
Taste: 6 I liked the drink! But my blueberry muffin tasted like a normal blueberry muffin would
Beverages: 8 Tonight I tried Jupiter's Nectar (has hazelnut, mocha, etc) pretty good!
Price Ranges: 10 Not too bad. Pretty average I'd say.
Music: 6 Can barely hear it over the voices of people. But as far as I can tell it's just noise
Decor: 13 Love all the art in this place! Too bad I'm poor and don't have $700 to spare on a duct tape portrait of John Lennon
Atmosphere: 23 It's cool. Would be nice to hangout or grab something to drink but a little too noisy for my taste to study.

Zera
This place was the first coffee shop we ever went to and definitely the best in Denton. The reason why I started this whole blog was because me and my friends wanted to see if any place could top this sanctuary. And so far no one can. If you ever ask me what coffee shop I recommend, this one's at the top of my list! Sooo back to reality... I am once again studying for these dreadful midterms and tonight I'm joined by Alex and my oldest and dearest friend, Allison.
Allison "Rosa's" Intro: I've known this chick technically since the 3rd grade when I thought her last name was Spatula, thru our mutual friend Loren Wells whom I'll give an intro because she's kinda a key player in my life too... But our real friendship didn't begin until Mr. Maloney's 6th grade class where we watched "The Voyage of the Mimi!" for those of you who don't know what that is, it was a tv series made in the like 80s starring an 11yr old Ben Afleck, but it was only hilarrrrious because of the infamous Mr. Maloney's commentary. Hence the birth of Allison earning her nickname, "Rrrosa boom chicka boom". Hey it was either Rosa or All-is-on. Yeah we were creative.. But it wasn't until when I could finally spell her last name S-C-H-A-F-F-H-A-U-S-E-R til we were bffs. Anyways me and Rosa have been best friends ever since going thru our ugly band days at Bedford Jr. High, being my like only Catholic friend growing up, and at Ld Bell where we laughed thru Oglesby's utterly ridiculous class and miraculously made it thru Mrs. Buehrer's Biology class! And now thank you Jesus, our colleges are only 5mins apart. Pretty much all you have to know is me and Allison have made it this far in life by each other's side. Right after I got my first kiss hers wasn't too far behind, we got our first boyfriend's at the same time, in 7th grade our french teacher claimed we had the EXACT same handwriting, and some lady thought we were sisters for crying out loud! Like are you blind? I'm Asian and she's a blond haired blue eyed Whitey! So to my dearest, P.P., wedding/baby shower planner bud, frenchies, bffaeaeaeae, I can't wait to open our time capsule in about 3 more years! if it's still there...
And we're back. Zera, you are awesome. My fav spot is the wooden corner by the fireplace. Best drink: Mocha. Or any of the smoothies. Def. a good place to hang with friends, or study, or shop for refurbished furniture next door. Okay well time to hit the books.
Zera's Evaluation
Food Choices/Internet: 7 Have a couple of choices mainly sandwiches and bagels and soups and CAKE; wifi
Taste: 10 DELICIOUS!
Beverages: 10 Haven't had anything I didn't like!
Price Ranges: 15 Nice and cheap just the way I like it:) Tonight I paid for me and Alixe's meal for like $6. Already cheaper than last night's banter
Music: 13 It's like a Christian owed place so they play Christian music. You can't hate on Christian music. Decor: 15 Such a homey place. I literally feel like I'm in my Auntie Brenda's living room.
Atmosphere: 25 BEST PLACE EVER.

banter.
So it's midterm week for the lives of college students and what better night to cram for all your tests! Seriously, this semester is kind of a joke.. thanks to the wonderful world of IB even though I am still pretty bitter about missing the diploma by not even one point, 1 higher level point! Thanks graders.. Anywaysss good ole "t-dub" gave me the standard 24 credit hours and with exception with one semester of 16hrs after this year I only need to take 12hrs til graduation. Heck Yeah! Well kinda.. this semester is my first of many 12 hour semesters and let's just say I need a hobby. Or a job. Least to say, I am SO BORED. All I do is sleep. Not saying that it's a bad thing. I just sleep my life away. The saying is "I'll sleep when I'm dead." Well will I be bored when I'm dead because I'm tired of sleeping all my life? Oh brother.. Anyways back to why I'm bored, I'm taking four classes: History, Painting (my new love), Quantitative Literacy (a pointless requirement for twu, or fancy title for ridiculous math), and Woman's Studies (also a waste of time. I'm pretty sure the class isn't meant for lesbians to take out their anger with the world, but apparently at Texas Woman's it is.) So that leads me to banter. I am purposely not capitalizing it because according to its sign it doesn't want to be capitalized. But this place is pretty filled tonight. I am currently surrounded by bearded men in sandals and girls wearing Hanson t-shirts. Nevertheless, this is a hip little shindig. This would also be a good place to take my alcoholic sister because not only do they serve teas and coffee, but they have a bar. Well, beer. Okay so I should probably get on that cram studying before I get too carried away. Lol Lauren is currently standing in the middle of the street taking a picture of the sign for me. Thanks Nauren! Check it out..
banter. Evaluation
Food Choices/Internet: 10 They have a nice selection of bagels, sandwiches, soups, and beer; key required, but apparently Alixe is mooching off of Hydrants wifi :)
Taste: 6 Ha well Alixe, Lauren, and I all got something to eat and all rated them a 6. My bacon bagel, Genius might I add, was kinda dry and cold, Alixe doesn't like what they put on her sandwich..kinda her fault. And Lauren gave her tomato basil soup a thumbs in the middle.
Beverages: 5 We all got pretty generic drinks aka Tazo tea that we made ourselves. Nothing special.
Price Ranges: 5 Sucky. I paid almost $8 for a cup of hot water and bacon bagel. Um I'm poor.
Music: 15 Nice selections. Some 90s songs but I'm diggin it!
Decor: 13 Coffee bar. Tables. Couches. Stage. Typical Coffee shop.
Atmosphere: 18 It's alright nothing too special. I don't really feel at home.. A lot of oldies.
